Theres also the mercenary system (which you've already mentioned), new idle animations, and new types of NPCs, however I got to say that my favourite feature in this game that separates it from previous titles is the story progression. A load of new items and monsters are added in this game aswell, with 2 extra types of pets, and the "Imp" playable race. The multiple towns have been changed to 1 single town with 4 unique dungeons. The hud has been given a full makeover to better fit the Arabic setting. (One more feature that was added that I feel most people forget, yet is probably the best change ever made to this series, is an expanded inventory for your pet, DOUBLING the space your pet can carry and sell, which is truely a life saver).Ĭursed king is the game that changed the most. Despite all these great changes, most of the game has you doing the exact same quests as Undiscovered realms, making it feel less like a 3rd installment and more like a heavily polished version of the second game. It adds tons of new weapons and items, layout changes to pre-existing towns, and a brand new dungeon with unique enemies called "The chamber of trials", in which you mainly fight 4 new bosses: 3 variations of a monster based on your character's race (skeleton king for humans, centaurs orcs for half-orcs, etc) and a very unique final boss which I won't spoil here. This game also brings back the Town of Grove, which is playable despite the fact that you cannot get a realm quest for its dungeon. It also features the inclusion of races, wielding a spell and different skill attributes from the get-go (along with added pet customisation). Along with many balancing changes made to the enemies, this game features a new "rage attack" mechanic, which uses your stamina to deal a powerful attack based on your current weapon. Traitor Soul is what feel like it could be a true sequel if it were the second game in the series instead of Undiscovered Realms. Also they add a hardcore mode, a feature also in the next 2 games. However, there are no new character customizations, no new mechanics, and no new items (except for fish, they add new fish in every game). There are also tons of new enemies, and 2 new types of quests, where you can either destroy/defend a shrine from enemies, or escort creatures to a certain level of a dungeon. This game features a mechanic that allows you to import any character from any previous game to play as, a feature that gets retained throughout the entire series. Undiscovered Realms features 3 new towns and dungeons, with the story taking place right after the first game. However, imo, I personally feel like they all add enough content to be sold as individual products.
